Seusstastic Classroom Inspirations: Behavior Coupon FREEBIE

Seusstastic Classroom Inspirations: Behavior Coupon FREEBIE: This is definitely NOT my idea but I did get inspired by Mrs. Cooley from First Grader...At Last. She posted about a fabulous behavior catal...

I came across what seems like a great motivational classroom management system.  I am not sure how to make it work in my art room, but I am thinking I can alter it to work even for me and my 570 students.

Can't Beat the Beach

It has been awhile since my family and I were able to relax and enjoy some time together.  A couple of years ago we went to Myrtle Beach.  My daughter was ready to head back to the water so we chose a new spot, Orange Beach, Alabama near Gulf Shores.  I knew I needed to make sure my 7 year old daughter understood that the beach would not actually be orange.  You can imagine her dismay.  I assured her that the hotel we had chosen was indeed orange.  We really did everything last minute since I am paranoid about planning a trip during a hurricane.  Hurrican Debby had just missed the Alabama coast and moved toward Florida so I thought this was the perfect time.  The odds of a second storm coming up any time soon was probably rather low.  We had always regretted not having a photo done of our first trip to the beach so we contacted a photo studio I had found online.  They were booked, but they put us in touch with the perfect person for us.  Her name is Susan Caver of Just A Pose Photography.  She was wonderful.  We enjoyed our photo session and she put us completely at ease.  I highly recommend contacting her through her web site.  www.justaposephotography.com

End of the Year

As another school year comes to an end, I am inspired by all of those around me who push students to do their best, inpire them to become better and give so much of their time.  Remember your teachers and show them special appreciation this time of year.  Parents don't often see the endless hours of grading, challenges of discipline in the classroom, additional responsiblities added and a paycheck that doesn't increase accordingly.  So even if you aren't able to give monetary thanks think about a note, a letter to the board of education thanking them for providing such wonderful teachers for students.  It never hurts to give a little praise!
